Faintly etched blade with on one side '92 Highlanders' and thistles and on the other side St. Andrew and ornate thistles. These became the new unit's 1st and 2nd Battalions respectively.

The Gordon Highlanders recruited in Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire and Shetland.
