Officer's dirk to the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders). Dirk of traditional form. Carved wood grip with knot work and studded. Silver mounts. Foil backed set pommel. Plain blade inscribed McLeod College St, Edinburgh. The chape also engraved with 93rd. Two old style chains to back of dirk to attach to frog. Matching knife and fork ensuite similarly decorated. B-knife inscribed 'V R Marrison Bro's and Howson, cutlers to her Majesty'. Dirk: 46cm. Blade: 32cm. Condition: Good overall. Miinor surface rust to blade. Socket on handle of bi knife is possibly replaced.

The 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot was a Line Infantry Regiment of the British Army, raised in 1799. Under the Childers Reforms, it amalgamated with the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot to form the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
