Officer's dirk to the 1st Battalion,  Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. Silver plated dirk. The crowned thistle identifies the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. The blade is unadorned in keeping with the post WW2 military austerity programme. In and out service marks on leather scabbard at rear. Plain bright blade. Bonnet and Swords on bog handle. Matching knife and fork ensuite with chains. Wood baluster grip carved with basketweave set with studs and with crossed swords and bonnet at the back. Original wood-lined black patent leather scabbard with mounts embossed and chased with thistles and lilies, the top mount locket with Camerons crest and Queen's Crown (Elisabeth II). Estimate date of dirk is based on the fact that in 1961 the regiment amalgamated with the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany's) to form the Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons). Condition: silver plate patchy.
